    FELICITATION: Global Peace Initiative

    WeSchool has been organizing peace initiatives since 2013 and the fourth initiative was held in memory of 26/11 victims.

    Eminent personalities from politics, cinema, television, and journalism were part of this initiative which felicitated Padmashri Dr. Jockin Arputham, Mr. Awais Sheikh, Mr. Javed Bashir, Ms. Maya Shahani and Mr. Krishna Das for their contribution towards peace.

    HACKATHON: Med4Dev - India-Israel Innovation in Affordable Healthcare

    HACKATHON: Med4Dev - India-Israel Innovation in Affordable Healthcare

    The first of its kind; this event was held parallely in Tel Aviv, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai to develop low cost, accessible innovative ideas and prototype solutions to address healthcare challenges of low and lower-middle income communities in India.

    Jointly hosted by Pears Program for Global Innovation, University of Tel Aviv and WeSchool; Mr. Vishal Gondal from GOQii and Nimrod Assouline and David Akov from Consulate General of Israel In Mumbai were present. Cash prizes of Rs. One Lakh were given to promising ideas.

    MOVIE SCREENING: Don’t Let Her Go!

    Conceptualized by Prof. Aditya Bhat, Alumnus, Media professional and Head - Media & Entertainment Program; WeSchool, this short film starred; Kangana Ranaut, Isha Koppikar, Omkar Kapoor, and Ravi Kishan, with thespian Amitabh Bachchan. It gives the strong message of keeping the environment clean to bring wealth and prosperity i.e. “Swachchatamein Hi Samruddhi Hain!”, through the lives of sanitation workers of the municipal corporation

    WORKSHOP: ReDx - Innovating for Billions; MIT - Emerging Worlds Mumbai

    In collaboration with MIT Media Labs, TCS, Nashik Municipal Corporation, WeSchool housed ideas and prototypes created by 100 innovators focused to solve challenges related to Health,

    Agriculture, Water, Transportation, Citizen Empowerment and Education.

    The Emerging Worlds Special Interest Group (SIG) is an MIT Media Lab initiative to set up co-innovation hubs in emerging economies, solving challenges using digital solutions like machine learning, AI, Internet of Things and mobile devices.

    FESTIVAL: Chitrabharati - The 4th Indian Film Festival

    FESTIVAL: Chitrabharati - The 4th Indian Film Festival

    Prabhat Chitra Mandal organized Chitrabharati to showcase National Award winning films in feature and short film categories from different Indian languages. Partnered with Pu.La.Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, the festival also housed a book release, an exhibition of vintage film posters and competition of short films. Directors of few of these films and winners of the competition were felicitated and honored by Prof Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool.

    SOCIAL PROGRAM: North-East Calling Initiative

    Under ‘Each One - Teach One' principle, WeSchool to work with a B-School from the North Eastern states to design leadership and developmental programs for students and faculty. Ten deserving students were offered a 100% tuition fee waiver for a leadership program. Initiate also set up a satellite center for the benefit of North East students to enroll in Business Management courses through Distance Learning.

    FESTIVAL: Mata Maifal - Literary festival for youth

    A two-day LitFest jointly hosted with Maharashtra Times was inaugurated by AMISH Tripathi, the author of Shiva Trilogy. Major publications like Rajhans, Shabd, Jyotsna set up bookstall for hundreds of readers. Attended by publishers, writers, translators, bloggers, and young readers, it became a platform for interesting interactions.

    Devendra Fadnavis, Honorable Chief Minister, Maharashtra graced the event to share his journey as a discerning reader and a poet.
