The Career Management Centre - Managing Careers!
The Career Management Center (CMC) plays an important role in shaping the careers of students from their induction and orientation, summer internships, mid-term projects, right to their final placements and even beyond.

CMC also undertakes various academic and non-academic initiatives so that students are well equipped to meet varied industry requirements. The CMC also networks with the Institute's alumni for creating more career opportunities. Likewise, it also aims to support alumni by creating more career opportunities and switches for them, through its vast network of industry contacts.

Therefore naturally, managing Corporate - Institute interface is an important responsibility of this Centre and it is also involved in brand building activities for the institute. Besides its core function of Placements and Internships for the students, the CMC is engaged in a host of support functions, meant to bring about continuous improvement in student activities.

Having successfully placed batches of students in top companies, year after year, several renowned companies have recruited from our campus in huge numbers. Some of the many prominent companies on campus included IBM, DHL, Nicolas Piramal, KPMG, Wipro, HSBC, JM Morgan, i Gate, UBS Bank, Citi Financial, Gammon India, GESCO, Crisil, Zee TV, NDTV, Asian Paints, Big FM, Thomas Cook, Reliance Retail, Siemens, Emerson Group, ITC Group, UB Group, JK Industries and HCL Technologies. Students have even received international placement offers at the Jumbo Electronics Co. Ltd., VFS Pvt. Ltd. & Kotak Securities.

The highlight for this year's summer internships has been the large number of students doing their internships in various locations including the US, Denmark, Germany, Kenya, & Malaysia.

The CMC has been instrumental in successfully placing several batches of students in top companies, year after year.

Mr. Ramesh Kharwa heads the CMC at the Welingkar Institute. Prior to working with Welingkar, Mr Kharwa has served with Siemens India Ltd. for 35 years as Head, Corporate Communications is strongly associated with the National Human Resource Development Network since the past 5 years.

Mr. Kharwa advises and guides several young minds at the institute, to make the right career choices. Several students come back to Welingkar to seek guidance from him, as he is a true mentor to them.
