Life at WeSchool
Life at WeSchool Mumbai and Bengaluru stands out for its perfect amalgam of academics with rich campus experience through student clubs, fests, industry interactions, social impact projects and sports. Sustainability, technology-enabled learning, and continuous interaction with CXOs, alumni, and thought leaders form the pillars of the WeLearning Experience as students work on building future skills laced with values. Multiple social-impact initiatives are also taken up by the students, who have seen consistent wins in university-level competitions like MUNIJAN for their innovative community projects.
Round Tables at WeSchool are specially curated industry–academia dialogues where leaders from corporates, government, and global bodies debate emerging themes with students and faculty. For instance, Retail Technology Round Tables have explored the changing contours of seamless retail with tech; recent high-level engagements with GCC and industry leadership debated India's 'Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Media- and HR focused round tables further expose students to current challenges and best practices across sectors.
SIP Summer Internship Project - The SIP is a core application-based component across PGDM, MMS, and related programmes. Generally, students are attached to organizations for 8-10 weeks, work on live projects as per their specializations, and are guided by both corporate mentorship and internal faculty mentorship. Many programs additionally mandate a “Summer Internship Research Project” that involves hands-on exposure to research and analytics. The CMC attracts hundreds of companies each year and facilitates SIP opportunities with competitive stipends.
SIH - Smart India Hackathon - WeSchool, Mumbai, has served as a nodal centre for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) in collaboration with the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education and AICTE. In this context, the campus also hosts top teams from all over India for 36-hour continuous hackathons in which students construct technology solutions to real problem statements from ministries and industries, often with strong potential for social impact. Participation is well aligned with the WeSchool approach to entrepreneurship and innovation, thereby encouraging patents, start-ups, and scalable ideas.
Webiz is a major annual management and marketing fest at WeSchool. Recent editions, like the one in 2024, had multilevel competitions for brand identification, creative brand integration, marketing improvisation, and campaign design by the students. The fest brings together participants from different PGDM specializations and often covers case-based challenges, live briefs, and interactive sessions with industry experts-a high-energy platform to apply classroom learning to real marketing problems.
IMPACT, WeSchool’s annual inter–B-school cricket tournament, has been one of its oldest sports traditions. Organized at renowned locations like Matunga Gymkhana, it is a two-week- long tournament which enlists teams from the top management institutes across Mumbai. The event starts with alumni matches and captain & meets, while women & matches would be specially organized to make the tournament more inclusive. Recent editions-IMPACT 2025 is the 32nd tournament-are being showcased as an integral element in all-round education and helping students in management become better at teamwork, leadership, resilience, and camaraderie.
Karvaan is a cultural festival powered mainly by the students of PGDM Media & Entertainment. It provides a platform for emerging musicians, dancers, and performers to exhibit their talents through live music, dance, drama, and other performances. The event is designed as a professional-quality cultural production that gives students experience in event conceptualization, programming, backstage management, promotions, and artist coordination, emulating real workflows in the media and entertainment industries.
Experiential learning lies at the heart of the pedagogical approaches at WeSchool. Initiatives include: Experiential Learning Exercises (ELE): Day-long activities and simulations where students work in teams on real-life organizational scenarios to build self-awareness, communication, and leadership skills.
Innovative Pedagogies & Simulations: Computer-based simulations and design-thinking projects used in programmes like PGDM Rural Management, among others, toward connecting theory with field realities. GCL and Live Projects: The two most prominent programs at GCL, where students receive live business innovation and social-impact challenges from corporates and government bodies, involve prototyping implementable solutions. Social & Community Engagement: Students work with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community organizations throughout India on management- focused projects, investing thousands of volunteer hours.
