WeSchool has won AICTE-CII IndPact Award for Best Industry-Linked Institute at Education Summit celebrating industry-academia collaborations, New Delhi. The award is an outcome of AICTE-CII Survey of Industry-linked Technical Institutes 203.5 rom across 9,000 institutes. Only 3000 Institutes were shortlisted after a short survey among which to institutes won the award.
Set-up in its Mumbai campus in May 2015 is the WeSchool REDX (Rethinking Engineering Design eXecution) Innovation lab, a unique, bottom-up co-innovation platform designed to address grand challenges in the emerging world. The environment is charged with curious minds working on developing novel and innovative citizen-based technologies in various domains including (but not limited to) health technology, urban development, waste management, and financial inclusion; that supports wide-ranging needs of urban population and corporations. The innovations are affordable, can scale quickly and easily, and are applicable globally.
We understand that mere theory is knowledge without insights. To acquaint our students with the on-ground realities and best industry practices, industry roundtables are held on campus. Senior management and thought leadership from across industries are invited for roundtable interactive sessions. To mentor and counsel our students, alumni meets are arranged. The Alumni roundtables are mostly popular in view of career guidance. Here the alumnus answers questions on topics ranging from job role to resume building. Such forums enable students to create an experience from a summer internship or to present impactful live case study projects.
Traditionally, business schools have always educated future managers in the technical and functional skills central to their role as custodians of shareholder capital. But, the scenario is changing. Businesses today need future leaders capable of making sustainable decisions and thinking long term. Through orientation events such as Foundation Fortnight 2018, WeSchool, strives to develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.
WeSchool in association with world-renowned Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®), a company that trains fortune 500 companies globally on innovation and leadership practices runs The Global Citizen Leadership (GCL). This unique opportunity offers a platform for corporate stalwarts to address industry issues and imparts leadership and innovation skills to students. It takes each participating student through the process of problem identification, solution framing and sustaining the recommended change. Students have showcased over 287 live projects over five years at GCL. The WeSchool Global Citizen Leader (GCL) program finds mention in the Stanford Social Innovation Review 2014 as an initiative that is capable of Educating a New Generation of Entrepreneurial Leaders.
WeSchool Bengaluru in association with AIM (Academy of Indian Market) organized the '6th AIM - AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium'. International universities and doctoral students were invited to share their research on ‘’Marketing in a Connected World." Marketing leaders discussed the influence of digital technologies in marketing and also the academic scholarly work on this subject.
Taking a cue from the Prime Minister’s clarion call, “Think India, Transform India” WeSchool conducted the idea contest in 100 different Graduate colleges of South India. The thought behind was to sway the Institutions and students towards Innovation and design thinking which has been the hallmark of WeSchool.
WeSchool, Bengaluru in association with the Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) and IDG Media Group, organized the 'International Conference on Social Media Marketing in Emerging Markets' in Bengaluru.
Interim Placement (Batch 2018-20)
The placements at WeSchool had an excellent response from companies, not only in terms of the number of job profiles but also the diversity in roles and attractive packages. A total of 291 companies visited the campus in which 50 were new companies.
