Celebration of <\/em><\/strong>‘Vaachan Prerana Din’<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em> in the presence of \u00a0Shri Vinod Tawde, Hon. Minister<\/em><\/strong> for School, Higher and technical Education, Sports and Youth Welfare, Government\u00a0 of Maharashtra<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

October 15, 2015<\/strong> is declared as ‘Vaachan Prerana Din’<\/strong> (Reading inspiration Day) by Government of Maharashtra, and \u2018World Student\u2019s Day\u2019<\/strong> by UN to celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Learning Resource Centre (LRC<\/strong>) at WeSchool celebrated Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam\u2019s birth anniversary\u00a0\u2013 by paying a tribute to the philosopher, social scientist and author by holding various activities for motivating MBA students to imbibe reading habits. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The celebrations at WeSchool \u00a0inaugurated by Shri Vinod Tawde, Hon. Minister <\/strong>for School ,Higher and Technical Education, Sports and Youth welfare,<\/strong> included activities like an exhibition of books written by Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, display of his quotes showcasing\u00a0 his \u00a0inspirational thoughts, and a talk by Sudeep Nagarkar ,alumnus ,WeSchool \u00a0and best-selling author <\/strong>of \u2018Few things left unsaid\u2019, \u2018It started with a friend request\u2019, \u2018You are trending in my dreams\u2019 , about\u00a0 the inspiration behind his writing\u00a0 and\u00a0 his journey so far.<\/p>\n

While paying homage to the veteran scientist and former President of India, Shri Vinod Tawde,<\/strong> Hon. Minister <\/strong>for School ,Higher and Technical Education, Sports and Youth welfare ,Govt of Maharashtra <\/strong>said,\u201d <\/strong>His writings inspired an entire generation of Indian youth to believe in themselves and be optimistic that India can indeed become the Global superpower. But moving ahead, can we celebrate his birth anniversary as a \u2018No Gadget Day\u2019? The competitive environment is forcing our young students to read only the textbooks required by their curriculum. If you want to achieve great heights in your chosen field, you must read books\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 on a diversity of subjects that are authored by great writers. Become a reader, only then you will become a leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReading is the best way to\u00a0improve\u00a0your mind and add to the knowledge pool that will give you a distinct advantage in life\u201d, said Advocate Shri. S.K Jain, Chairman, Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali\u00a0& LMC, WeSchool <\/strong>while addressing the gathering of young students at WeSchool. \u201cBooks written by Kalam express his philosophy and lessons to lead and succeed in a fast-paced, knowledge-based world where the only rule is change. If you want to become a leader like him, develop a habit of reading every day.\u201d\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

While reminiscing about his meeting with <\/strong>Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, <\/em><\/strong>Dr. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool<\/strong> said,\u201d What struck me about Kalam was his inherent humility and great ability to inspire. His creative mindset and perpetual optimism fired the imagination of Indian youth and became a major force behind innovation in India. As a tribute to Kalam, his vision and teachings, let us turn every corner of the campus into a library and encourage our students to read as reading helps to develop into more empathetic and well-rounded leaders that dream for self and for the nation. \u201d\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The inaugural function was followed by a lively interaction with author Sudeep Nagarkar who described his journey as a student, writer and motivational speaker.<\/p>\n
