The Innovative prototypes displayed how the confluence of talent, technology, finance and Innovation can create better healthcare that is available to all.<\/p>\n<p>A group of 16 students across diverse programs like General Management, Business Design, Ebiz and Healthcare from WeSchool had\u00a0 participated\u00a0 In ReDx\u00a0 under the mentorship of\u00a0 world renowned Innovator <strong>Prof Ramesh Raskar <\/strong>and his colleagues<strong>, Anshuman Das and John Werner, Camera Culture Group, MIT Media Lab<\/strong>, along with expert faculty from <strong>IIT-B, Hinduja Hospital and WeSchool.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_3109.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4195 aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_3109\" src=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_3109-300x235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"235\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prototypes presented : <\/strong><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stethocardiogram- A low-cost, handheld screening device for valvular heart disease<\/li>\n<li>Low Cost X- Ray Machine<\/li>\n<li>Vein Detection using Augmented Reality &amp; Oxymetric mapping<\/li>\n<li>Anterior Segment Ocular Imaging<\/li>\n<li>iLABLEit\u00a0 for Retinal Imaging Annotation<\/li>\n<li>DAAnt \u2013 an automated devise for early detection and continuous monitoring of dental health<\/li>\n<li>Otoscope for visualizing ears<\/li>\n<li>Cardio24 &#8211; An integrated platform that enables automated diagnosis of cardiac health<\/li>\n<li>Super Stereo \u2013 A low cost wearable modular platform for eye diagnosis<\/li>\n<li>Skinspect- A handheld device that uses spectroscopy to detect skin-lesions<\/li>\n<li>Hydrospect- Modifying a pulse oximeter to be able to quantify &amp; access hydration monitor<\/li>\n<li>MIT Smart Toilet Initiative- Personalized health bioanalytics at home<\/li>\n<li>Sleep Apnea for Rest Analysis and Monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Skin perfusion Photography \u2013 Analyzing wounds, burns &amp; other skin conditions using blood flow perfusion maps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/STUDENT-TEAM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4196\" title=\"STUDENT TEAM\" src=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/STUDENT-TEAM-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>While welcoming the august gathering, Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool <\/strong>who was leading the ReDx initiative, second year in a row said, \u201cThe collaboration between MIT Media lab and WeSchool is a milestone in our journey towards creating the future. WeSchool\u2019s efforts at creating an ecosystem for convergence of design thinking, technology and empathy has created this wonderful platform for bringing participants from diverse streams to design these much needed healthcare diagnostic devices which will have immense innovation value and social impact in the years ahead. During ReDx, WeSchool students have helped translate potentially high impact ideas\/solutions sourced from health researchers &amp; doctors and turned these challenges not only into working prototypes but also into executable business solutions, thereby boosting their entrepreneurial spirit that will lead to new plans, new strategies, dreams and visions\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/VEIN-DETECTION-USING-AUGMENTED-REALITY.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4197\" title=\"VEIN DETECTION USING AUGMENTED REALITY\" src=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/VEIN-DETECTION-USING-AUGMENTED-REALITY-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shri Vinod Tawde, Hon Minster for Education &amp; Culture,<\/strong> applauded the efforts made by all the collaborators, \u201cIndia faces major challenges in healthcare .Today an early diagnosis is a priority for every family and we need to provide facilities to enable them for self-care and to avoid hospitalization. WeSchool and MIT have made a wonderful beginning, now the government must step in to take it forward\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While unfolding the Journey of the workshop <strong>Prof Ramesh Raskar, <\/strong><strong>Associate Professor<\/strong><strong>, MIT Media Lab said,\u201d <\/strong>ReDx, a platform focused on Healthcare challenges, is a joint venture going on in parallel in USA and India. Apart from bringing in speed, our model of innovation enables us to collaborate with students, entrepreneurs, academician, researchers and government, and this convergence translates into scale and sustainability\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Out of these convenient, affordable, do-it-yourself devices, the most promising projects will be selected for continuing development with the goal of commercialization in the coming year.
