The film speaks of love which is easy to begin but impossible to end. The film promo and title track was applauded by the students.<\/p>\n<p>The event commenced with Prateik Babbar interacting with the students followed by\u00a0 a thought provoking session with Director ,Manish Tiwary and Padmaja Thakur Tiwary, the writer. The director gave the students an\u00a0\u00a0 insight\u00a0\u00a0 into\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 art \u00a0\u00a0of\u00a0\u00a0 film\u00a0\u00a0 making\u00a0\u00a0 and \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0intricacies\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 stages\u00a0\u00a0 of direction. He interacted with the students and shared the finer details of the film and the relevance of Varanasi as the backdrop for the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaintaining the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 integrity\u00a0\u00a0 of the\u00a0\u00a0 original work\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 whilst adapting\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 it to the Indian version\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 was\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0challenge. The story of the lovelorn Romeo and Juliet can\u2019t be made into a film in Europe anymore because the feudal system is long gone but here in Varanasi we can see points of connection like the social order, the warring families, architectural grandeur and religious undercurrents.\u00a0 The\u00a0\u00a0 havelis on the Ghats of the Ganga, local\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 gangs\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 religious manifesto\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 been\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the key\u00a0\u00a0 elements\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 revolving\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 around\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 my characters\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the dramatic content of the story\u201d explained Tiwary.<\/p>\n<p>Padmaja Thakur Tiwary, Head-Department of English, Delhi University spoke about\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 challenges\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 she faced\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_3883.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3157\" title=\"DSC_3883\" src=\"https:\/\/www.welingkar.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_3883-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a>while\u00a0\u00a0 translating and adapting\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the original\u00a0\u00a0 work\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 into\u00a0\u00a0 Hindi to gel with the Indian milleau. \u201d It is always difficult to adapt stories from one culture to another. And here, we were dealing with Shakespeare whose ideas are like\u00a0 spirals that keep growing. Romeo and Juliet is one of his most famous works, adapted in many forms and different languages across centuries, so we had to proceed with caution. He wrote it as a play in the form of a verse so to adapt it for the big screen in a different language, form \u00a0was a task .A great deal of research combined with a constant effort to do a reality check in elements like power, money,violence\u00a0 contributed to the script\u201d said Padmaja while sharing her efforts in adapting the play for the film.<\/p>\n<p>Post the event there was a photo op with the ISSAQ team and they\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 distributed\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the audio\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CDs\u00a0\u00a0 as giveaways\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 much to the delight of students.
