According to industry reports, the Indian healthcare industry has grown to become one of the most promising and progressive sectors in recent times.\u00a0 The healthcare market with its affiliated services and markets comprises of Health Service Provider Organizations (hospitals) Health Insurance & Managed Care, Medical Equipment & Devices, Pharmaceuticals & Life sciences, Health Support Services and many others.<\/p>\n

To create awareness of the growth opportunities in this sunrise industry, WeSchool had organized a free seminar on \u201cEmerging Opportunities in Healthcare Sector\u201d at its Mumbai campus on Saturday, 16th<\/sup> June 2012.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The objective of the seminar was to create awareness in the healthcare community about the significance of higher management education for healthcare professionals and practicing doctors\/practice owners.<\/p>\n

<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Mr.Manpreet Sohal \u2013 CEO & Zonal Director, S L Raheja Fortis Hospital. A lawyer by qualification and healthcare professional by choice, he spoke on the healthcare industry scenario and the expectations from healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n

In the innovative practices, Dr.Monika Tandon – GM – Operations, Nova <\/a>Medical Centers , spoke on the parallel healthcare delivery models and highlighted best practices.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Whilst speaking about career opportunities for healthcare professionals Mr.Neeraj Kumar – Head-HR, Umrao Hospital\u00a0<\/a> also elaborated on the challenges of this sector and required traits for healthcare management professional to succeed.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As part of the student initiatives, this event was totally organized and managed by the students pursuing PG program, thus providing an environment conducive to experiential learning. The entire seminar was very well planned, coordinated and executed by the PGP-HCM batch 11\u2019-12\u2019, which comprises of medical and allied health sciences professionals as well as general graduates and nursing students.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We were lucky in being blessed by the rain god, as it was the first day Mumbai experienced heavy showers. Yet we had a captive audience of 200 plus and had to make arrangement of additional AV relay in parallel rooms as the Auditorium got filled to capacity. The audience profile was a healthy mix of Medical professionals, People with allied health service background like <\/a>Occupational & Physiotherapists, Biomedical sciences, Nursing, Lab technology, Pharmacology and Clinical Research; also non science background people with interest in healthcare sector and\/or working in the sector. People attending came from varied organizations like Fortis, Hinduja, Novartis, K.E.M, Nova, Medusind ; <\/a>some having even own successfully established practices.\"\"<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
