The students of the retail programme also have the opportunity of participating in student competition - The Retail Futures Challenge at the World Retail Congress. The World Retail Congress is the pre-eminent meeting place for retail leaders from across the globe. The World Retail Congress brings together over 1000 senior executives from the global retail industry. The Retail Futures Challenge, a student competition that puts innovation and creativity at its heart and in a way designed to provide positive direction on how retailing will begin to change and evolve. WE SCHOOL is the only Indian B-School that has been selected to participate in this prestigious competition on a global platform for two years in a row. At the Retail Futures Challenge held in Berlin, 2010 our students won the first prize for visual merchandising at the competition. The concept chosen was "Mumbai Meri Jaan" showing the different themes of Mumbai city such as Bollywood [the Indian Film Industry], Chow patty[A popular beach] and the local trains.
Preparing for a competition of this magnitude is a rigorous affair. Our students participating in the World Retail Congress are mentored by the best from the industry at multiple stages of preparation. Being groomed for a prestigious competition such as the World Retail Congress is a tremendous learning experience in itself.
