1. Why Welingkar is starting a programme in Agri-business management?
Agriculture will be the one of the sustainable industry in future and India’s main backbone industry. Many corporates of national and global network are opting for and promoting agro business to convert traditional agriculture into a corporate industry. Positive GOI Policy, boom in FPI, Food parks, SEZ, CEZ, will require skilled HR. Keeping pace with this transformation, Welingkar is entering into this field of agribusiness, to generate trained and skilled human resource, to cater the need of stake holder industries.

2. Why one year programme?
The beneficiary students are basically graduates in Agriculture & allied subjects, hence they have adequate knowledge on the crop production technologies. What they need to value add in their career is to acquire managerial and marketing skills to cater the base need of the industry. One year programme is just enough for the purpose.

Transformation of agriculture into agribusiness calls for professional management. Admission will be purely on the basis of merit. Institute has decided to have an intake of 30 students for the DABM. The candidate for the admission will be evaluated on the basis of candidate's performance in academics, work experience and personal interview. 7. What is the eligibility for taking admission to this course?
The candidate should hold Bachelor or Master Degree in Agriculture & allied subjects from a recognized AgriUniversity by state or central government or be a pure science graduate / post graduate with Botany.

11. Can I do this programme through the distance learning mode?
Presently classroom mode is followed. Distance learning program will be introduced in near future.
