We Cafe Bengluru
The event WE-Cafe is an industry - student community interface where by an expert (guest) from leading companies (different verticals) invited for a rendezvous with the students and faculty of Welingkar.

Originally conceptualised in the lines of popular TV shows like Jeena Isika Naam Hai and Koffee with Karan, the event, instead of having celebrities from the tinsel town, has corporate celebrities coming in and sharing their thoughts and views on a set of questions asked by a student host.

The show starts with a brief introduction of the guest and the host then speaks on the agenda for the day. After that, the stage is left open for the guest to speak about any management topic as per his/her discretion. The guests are requested to make the session as interactive as possible. The interactive session is followed by a discussion with our student host. Video footages of a few colleagues of the guest (speaking on how the guest actually goes about executing his daily work, his style of leadership etc.), is also shown. There is also a fun-filled one minute rapid fire round, where the lighter side of the guest is showcased. The show is concluded by felicitation and feedback by the guest on the guest-book. Finally a video feedback of the guest and a small photo session ends the show formally. Feedback and suggestions from the audience is collected for the emancipation of the show.

For the first episode Mr. Sanjeev Babel, Associate Director - Corporate Strategies, from Mindtree was invited. Mr. Babel had an interactive session with the students and faculty, on Competitive Intelligence in Strategy Formulation and about a new strategy called Judo Strategy of analyzing competitors.

Mr. Lakshminarayana, Chief Strategy Officer - M&A, from Wipro Ltd. was invited for the second episode. Mr. Lakshminarayana talked in length about M&A as a Strategic Tool - The Wipro Experience.

Mr. Shailesh Chaturvedi, Chief Executive Officer - Tommy Hilfiger, India, graced the third episode of WE Cafe. Mr. Chaturvedi had quite a lively session with the students and faculty, speaking in general about Tommy Hilfiger Brand in India, the competitors, the key business strategies, retailing and the road ahead for the brand in India.

It was a stupendous experience of having the insight of these business leaders of India who not only gave their valuable time, but also shared the rich experience of their professionalism that added a lot of value to the students as well as the members of faculty present in the show.
